First English edition, large 8vo (234 x 149 mm), 383, [1]pp., 63 illustrs., in the text, light unobtrusive water tide mark to margins, original publishers embossed cloth, rebacked with original spine laid-down. The first English edition of a work by Taft (1820-1903), an American dentist, first published in Philadelphia in the same year. Crowley, 1709 (third edition of 1877).
