Fourth edition, 8vo (213 x 130 mm), xvi, 670pp., contemporary half calf, marbled boards, slightly rubbed, small split to foot of lower joint otherwise a nice copy. The fourth and best edition with considerable additions of this elusive title. Benjamin Moseley (1742-1819) received a medical education in London and Paris, and on completing his training in 1768 he set up as a surgeon-apothecary in Kingston, Jamaica, where he also held the post of surgeon-general. ìContains numerous important events in Jamaican history such as the introduction of the cinnamon and mango in 1782, the expedition San Juan, etc.îóRagatz.
