Description

Small folio (222 x 280 mm). 32 pp. Colour photographic illustrations throughout. Original printed wrappers. Stapled. English edition. The 1980 issue of the profusely illustrated annual journal issued by Aramco reporting on the year's work and activities in the form of essays and statistical figures. Yet again, Aramco's production of crude oil and natural gas liquids broke all records, reaching 3.5 billion barrels of crude oil and 135 million barrels of natural gas liquids. The year 1980 also saw the completion of more than 75 per cent of the Kingdom's Master Gas System (MGS), which was to "provide fuel and feedstock for the Kingdom's planned industrial complexes at Yanbu' and Jubail; propane, butane and natural gasoline for export; and fuel for general industry, power generation and desalination". In 1973, the Saudi government had bought a 25% interest in Aramco, increasing that interest to 60% the following year. In 1980, the Saudi government increased its interest in Aramco to 100%. Eight years later, the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) was officially established. - Front cover scratched at lower margin. Interior in excellent condition. - "Khaai" to front cover. - Cf.
