RARE report on the map of Sede Boqer-East and archaeological surveys conducted in this area, with description of some 135 sites from Epipaleolithic to Early Arab periods, of which about 125 were previously unknown. The author - Rudolf Cohen (d.2007) was deputy director of the Israel Antiquities Authority until his retirement in 2005, and co-director of the 'En Hatzeva excavations. For three decades, Cohen focused his archaeological activity on the Negev, where he excavated Roman and Nabatean sites, along with dozens of desert fortresses, some thought to be from the time of Solomon. The survey team for Sede Boqer-East included R.Cohen (leader), B.Cohen, R.Floresheim, Y.Gat, M.Golani, Z.Herzog, D.Nahlieli. Includes a large folding map and many b&w plates and figures. 270x205mm. XXXII+XVI+88 pages. Softcover. Cover corners and edges wrinkled. Rear cover wrinkled. Sticker residues on spine bottom edge. Ex-library copy with stamps on whitepages and map upper edge. Inner cover yellowing and slightly age-stained. Several first pages bottom edge and map upper edge slightly wrinkled.
