I saggi proposti intendono integrare tre elementi socio-culturali che, inscindibili nella realtà storica, raramente sono analizzati in reciproca relazione nella tradizione di studio sia storico-architettonica, sia storico-letteraria. Questi elementi si sintetizzano in tre parole chiave che costituiscono il fil rouge che annoda i temi dei vari contributi: 'architettura', 'antico', 'identità'. Le modalità attraverso le quali si perviene alla costruzione dell'identità architettonica locale sono poi il fine a cui tende l'insieme degli interventi. The essays here gathered merge three socio-cultural elements that are impossible to separate in historical reality, but that have been scarcely analysed in their mutual relations by the historians of art, architecture, and literature. These elements are epitomized by three keywords that run through the book as a leitmotiv: «architecture», «antiquity», and «identity». The aim of all these essays is to discover how local architectural identity is shaped.
