8vo. 2 pp. on bifolium. To an unnamed addressee: "Dear Sir, I have every inclination to assist you, but my difficulty is to obtain a picture. The possessors of my works have so often obliged me in lending pictures for London and Country exhibitions that they are tired of obliging me [.] I will however endeavor to induce some of my friends to help you [.]". - On stationery with embossed address and black border; with stamp of the "Autograph Collection of Dr. Max Thorek | Chicago"; the reverse of f. 2 with small traces of former mounting;
