8vo (postcard). ½ page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "In Erfüllung Ihres Wunsches ergebenst [.]". - Applying himself to genre and portrait painting, Henseler was a teacher at several schools of art and was appointed a professor of nude drawing at the Technische Hochschule in Berlin in 1888. Visits to his native Warthebruch moorlands inspired several of his works. - Traces of an angular fold. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
