Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Konnte Ihren Wunsch nicht früher erfüllen, da mir die Karte erst heute nachgesandt wurde [.]". - Appointed professor at the "Königliche Akademie für graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe" in Leipzig in 1907, Kolb turned the Academy's etching department into an exemplary school. His oeuvre included illustrations for the magazine "Jugend" as well as bookplates, stamps and etching cycles. - Postmark on verso showing through; a few small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
