Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). ½ page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - A pioneer of Modern Art at the Berlin school of sculpture, Breuer taught at the Berlin-Charlottenburg Academy from 1896 onwards and was awarded gold medals at the "Große Berliner Kunstaustellung" in 1894 and 1897. - Traces of a postage stamp. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
