Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - After studying in Leipzig and Munich, Felgentreff applied himself to genre painting influenced by his teacher Franz von Defregger, specialized in Bavarian and Tyrolean folklore, and exhibited in Berlin, Munich and Dresden from 1891. - Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
