Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Specializing in tavern, church and fairy tale motifs, Hein was a teacher at the Karlsruhe Academy of Arts from 1890 to 1905, joined the artists' colony in Grötzingen in 1890 and settled in Leipzig in 1905. - Small ink spots; lower right corner slightly creased. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
