Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). ½ page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - A pioneer of German plein air painting and a founding member of the Munich Secession, Landenberger applied himself to landscape painting in Southern Germany, Norway, Sylt and Holland, operated a private painting school in Munich, and was appointed professor at the Stuttgart Academy in 1905. - Some small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
