Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Specializing in monumental painting, Prell worked in a High Renaissance style but aimed at naturalist and illusionist effects of spatial expansion. His motifs include themes from the Bible as well as Greek mythology. - A few small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
