Description
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Studying at the Berlin Academy, Storch created illustrations for the works of Goethe and Kleist as well as for magazines including "Daheim" and "Vom Fels zum Meer". He was appointed professor at the Königsberg Academy in 1902 and was awarded the "Goethe-Medaille für Kunst und Wissenschaft" in 1944. - Traces of a fold near upper left corner; traces of a postmark; small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
