Description
Trampe, Halle, 1757-1764. Folio-size loose nature printing (35.6 x 22.5 cm). Well preserved nature printing with additional hand-colouring and printed caption. = A rare, early example of nature printing, showing Clutia pulchella, the lightning bush. It "is a southern African dioecious shrub of the family Peraceae" (Wikipedia). This print in good condition. Some light spotting, the left edge a bit toned. Five tiny holes in the left margin as well as some glue residu and fraying (also on bottom edge). Short, repaired tear in the top left outer margin. No creases or dents present.
