La collezione Mellon di disegni a carattere sportivo comprende una grande varietà di soggetti equestri, che vanno dalle corse alla caccia alla volpe, alle carrozze trainate da cavalli. Seymour, Stubbs, Gilpin, Ward, Rowlandson e Alken sono ben rappresentati, così come molti altri artisti quali Gainsborough, De Wint, Cotman e Thackeray, forse più famosi per altri aspetti. Il catalogo elenca 800 artisti con più di 2000 disegni. Completano l'opera riproduzioni in monocromia e 21 tavole a colori.
