A BELLE EPOQUE CALENDAR WITH FULL-PAGE CHROMOLITHOGRAPH PLATES BY MANY OF THE LEADING ARTISTS OF THE PERIOD, including Henri Boutet de Monvel, Leon Lhermitte, Caran d'Ache, and Luc-Olivier Merson. La Belle Jardiniere was a chain of shops specializing in high-end sportswear for men, women, and children. The plates, appropriately enough, depict elegantly decked out people engaging in activities relevant to the month in question: Boutet de Monvel (January) depicts five impeccably-dressed children singing in the new year; Caran d'Ache (October) shows us a hunting scene; etc. 4to. 12 leaves, printed rectos only, tied together with two fine silk strings. IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION. A little faint marginal spotting to one plate, else FINE AND BRIGHT. Of the greatest rarity.
