Controfrontespizio figurato protetto da velina, capolettera animato alla prefazione, più di 50 illustrazioni fotografiche b/n anche a piena pagina, 4 cartine topografiche a piena pagina. Ottimo esemplare. Non comune edizione originale di questa circonstaziata memoria dell' attività missionaria della nuova chiesa presbiteriana (per così dire rinata nel 1836). La missione in Cina di poco successiva alla 'guerra dell' oppio' fu capitanata dal Rev. W. C. Burns. Missioni di: Amoy; Formosa (Taiwan), Swatow, Singapore.
