Description

187 pages. Index. Eight black and white photographic plates. Doctor John Ralston Davidson [1870-1948] developed a treatment which, in his opinion and that of many patients, succeeded in arresting cancers. Originally penned in 1946, this work was not published until 1974, long after Dr. Davidson had passed. "I feel that the passage of time has enhanced, not diminished, his claim to an honoured place in the history of medical science. Our debt to his line of thought, while still largely unacknowledged, is shown by the fact that many of his ideas, which seemed so startlingly new when he propounded them in the '30s, are now widely accepted as 'obvious' truths. They were not so obvious then!" - Preface. Author was an Oxford trained scholar who spent twelve years as a columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press. He interviewed a dozen of Davidson's patients as part of his research for this book. Binding tight. Average wear to book which bears light foxing to edges. Gift greetings upon front free endpaper. Somewhat above-average wear and soiling to price-clipped dust jacket which is now preserved in glossy new archival-grade Brodart. A sound copy of the fascinating and little-known history of a Canadian doctor and his purported cancer arresting therapy. Book
