Oblong 4to. French manuscript on paper. 3½ pp. on 4 ff. Beautiful, unpublished poem of 10 quatrains with two corrections from Cocteau's youth, in which the speaker anticipates the tumultuous arrival of love that he knows only from books, and while he will grow old, love will always stay young. The first stanza reads: "Déjà je te ressens amour, comme un orage | Électrise et fascine un timide bétail | Je sais que mon sommeil, ma paix et mon courage | Tu les prendras avec ma joie et mon travail". - Slightly toned.
