Contemporary half cloth with original spine and front wrapper mounted. = An important contribution to the ecology, habits and habitats of the polar bear, which are of interest in view of current climatological developments. With the author's handwritten dedication to the dutch mammalogist and cetologist Everhard Johannes Slijper (1907-1968). With the latter's nice cetological bookplate on mounted on the front pastedown. Library stamp and cancellation stamp of the "Artis" library on the front pastedown and title page verso. Boards a bit stained, somewhat affecting the dedication, otherwise very good.
