Wien, Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften, 1865. 4to (29.7 x 23.3 cm). 40 pp., 15 text engravings and seven tinted lithographed plates of which two double-sized, folded. Disbound. = Constantin Freiherrn von Ettingshausen (1826-1897), professor of botany at the university of Graz was a major researcher of European Tertiary floras. This work, being the first of a series, was published in the Denkschriften, Mathematisch-naturwissenschaftliche Classe 26. The use of tinted text figures, representing new species, is quite unusual. Plates a very lightly spotted (less than usual), and with a rather faint damp-stain to the top margin. A good copy. Rare.
