In-8°, XVI, pp. 272, legatura in mezza pelle, titolo al dorso. Filologo tedesco, nato a Landsberg-an-der-Warthe il 20 marzo 1800, morto a Halle il 14 maggio 1875. Fu scolaro del Wolf e di Hegel, e dal 1825 sino alla morte professore nell'università di Halle. Con la sua Wissenschaftliche Syntax der griechische Sprache (Berlino 1829) tentò per primo uno studio storico della sintassi greca, in relazione con lo svolgimento della letteratura. He was a pupil of Wolf and Hegel, and from 1825 until his death as a professor at the University of Halle. With his Wissenschaftliche Syntax der griechische Sprache (Berlin 1829) was the first to attempt a historical study of Greek syntax in connection with the development of literature.
