Being the most vivid and specific evidence of cultural identity, handicrafts play an important role in transferring a nation's customs to next generations. Specifically, laces, which occupy a considerable position within traditional Turkish handicrafts, have been an integral part of the traditional Turkish clothes, and been often used for women's dresses and head ornaments for centuries. This study covers point laces on yemenis (colored cotton kerchief) identified in Gerede County of Bolu Province. The aim of the study is to identify peculiar point laces in such aspects as technique, instrument, color, motives and composition features.
