This is a very good softcover copy with almost no wear. Completely clean inside and out. Text block page edges just starting to yellow a bit. This monograph was prepared to document the important collection of Akan gold objects that was donated to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts by Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. in 1997. Essays by Doran Ross and Frances Marzio. Profusely illustrated in color. Several useful appendices: 1) Regalia of the Asantehene; 2) Akan Figures from Popular Bands; and 3) African Gold from Senegal, Mali and Kenya. Bibliography. 11" high X 8" wide, 303 pages.
