Contemporary grained half calf over marbled boards. Spine with gilt bands and title. Floral-patterned endpapers. = A thorough study on the weather and climate of the Netherlands in the mid-19th century with remarks on the climate of various parts of our planet. Written by the Dutch astronomer and meteorologist Frederik Wilhelm Christiaan Krecke (1812-1882). The view on the city of Amersfoort is very attractive. Some isotherms in one of the coloured world maps are quite peculiar. This is a saeparate (first) part of a series, 'Natuurlijke Historie van Nederland'. Small, old repair to the top edge of the first title page; otherwise an excellent, clean copy. Rare in this very good state. Not in Landwehr.
