Description
This is a good only reference copy, with some wear. Bound in the publisher's dark red cloth with gilt titles and decorations. The top of the spine is chipped badly affecting the title. The gilt decoration on the spine from top to bottom is a bit faded. Binding firm. Very clean throughout, but the soft paper has attracted some foxing, scattered light. Top page-edge gilt. Massive reference on the history of carved ivories. 88 sepia plates. 10" high X 7" wide, 443 pages.
