4to., Second Edition, with a coloured frontispiece, 11 full-page coloured illustrations, and numerous full-page monochrome illustrations, facsimiles and maps in the text; original red cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in gilt, a near fine copy in the dustwrapper . First published in 1970. The best life of Lasalle, protoge of the elder Kellerman. He came to Napoleon's notice in the Italian campaign and who served in most of the Emperor's campaigns until his death in 1809. With fine coloured and monochrome illustrations by Jack Girbal. VERY SCARCE. Sandler 1756 (recording the first edition)
