First edition of this rare and important children's book. Complete with lithographed frontispiece and 36 charming full-page lithographs hors texte. Small 4to. IN THE ORIGINAL PUBLISHER'S CLOTH BINDING, boards decorated in blind, spine gilt, all edges nicely decorated in color. Only the smallest traces of wear to binding, otherwise bright. Internally perfect, except for light soiling to final two leaves (table of contents and list of plates). Gumuchian 5016-5018, without a copy in original cloth. An excellent copy.
