Dark blue boards with gilt lettering and top edge gilt. Samuel Topliff was a merchant from Boston who sent letters back home. Travels go through England, France, Italy, Ireland, Germany - with the mention of "Manheim" and Darmstadt. He describes the trip from Geneva to Milan over the Simplonpass, which was made by Napoleon, according to the author. Topliff also draws a vivid picture of Paris and its nice street cafes - it seems he has seen many parts of Western Europe.
