This is a very good hardcover copy in a very good dust jacket with just light wear to jacket edges, short closed tear to bottom edge of back jacket panel. Completely clean inside and out. Text in Russian with 4 page English summary. English and Russian captions to the plates. Nikolai Nikolaevitsch Zoloterev (1915- 1989) was a Russian painter and set designer. His work in the theater included producing set designs for: the Stanislavsky Musical Theatre in Moscow, operas at the Bolshoi: Rimsky-Korsakov, and Giuseppe Verdi Il Trovatore, Rossini The Barber of Seville, Prokoviev's Semion Kotko, and the Story of a Real Man, Arthur Miller's View from the Bridge, at the Moscow Drama Theatre in 1959, Giselle at the Bolshoi, Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, Tchaikovsky's Iolanthe at the Bolshoi, and the Queen of Spades, Bizet's Carmen at the Stanislavsky Theatre, among others. Each production has at least 4 or 5 full-page color plates of Zoloterev's set designs. 19 different productions in all. 11" high X 9" wide, 206 pages.
