Hester Lynch Thrale Salusbury Thrale (Bodvel Hall, 27 gennaio 1741 – Tremeirchion, 2 maggio 1821), scrittrice e mecenate, sposò in seconde nozze il musicista italiano Gabriele Mario Piozzi (Quinzano d'Oglio, 8 giugno 1740 – Tremeirchion, 26 marzo 1809). Fu amica di Samuel Johnson, Oliver Goldsmith e Giuseppe Baretti, e qui racconta, con dovizia di particolari, le impressioni del suo Grand tour. "During her travels to Italy, Hester Piozzi had never ceased to take notes and write her observations in two notebooks, called respectively "Italian Journey 1784" and "German Journey 1786". She used these notes, together with the relevant entries she had made in the journal she kept throughout her live (eventually published as "Thraliana"), to write her travel account "Observations and Reflections" (Agorni, "Translating Italy for the Eighteenth Century: British Women", pg.113). > Lowndes, III, 1872.
