Facsimile printed wrappers. = Rare paper, extracted from Novitates Zoologicae, Volume 1(1) with a beautiful hand-coloured lithograph by the famous 19th century illustrator John Gerrard Keulemans, depicting several colourful humming-birds. Keulemans was at the hight of his carreer as a bird illustrator and therefore it was no surprise that Rothschild approached him for illustrating his Novitates Zoologicae. In this paper the Hartert's discuss 86 species from Ecuador and 25 from Mexico and California, of which several are described as new. A fine, clean copy.
