Studies carried out on the dissemination of the Cartesian philosophy in the second half of the 17th Century, and in particular on the figure of Pierre-Daniel Huet, bishop of Avranches, have disclosed interesting anticartesian thoughts on the part of some of his correspondents. Six different approaches introduce the thoughts of lesser known yet equally qualified authors on the acceptance of the Cartsan philosophy in various 17th century milieux: the Jesuits Rapin, Le Valois and Boschet, Simon Foucher, Jean-Baptiste Du Hamel and Antoine Menjot. 443 gr. 238 p.
