Original full-colour pictorial cloth. = A surprisingly rare work on aviculture in a beautiful binding. Richly illustrated. Illustrations are either steel engravings, or photos. A wide variety of birdcages is shown. This work is volume 3 of Karl Russ's Handbuch für Vogelliebhaber, -Züchter und -Händler, but it was also sold as a "stand alone" under the above title. First published in 1870 by Karl Friedrich Otto Russ (1833-1899), but this much altered and updated edition is by the German ornithologist Karl Neunzig (1864-1944). In the rear is a six pp. catalogue of related works. Slight toning, otherwise a fine copy. Nissen IVB, 802.
