Crapelet wrote this work as an introduction to the landmark first edition of the works of Eustache Deschamps, a 14th-century poet who, unlike his contemporaries, was vitally interested in daily life. This is a separate edition, with the same type, of which only a few copies were printed. Beautifully printed on fine laid paper (the edition of Eustache Deschamps was printed on wove paper). Scattered foxing throughout. 8vo. Uncut. Bound in quarter cloth and marbled boards, with a morocco spine label. Original wraps bound in. Light wear to extremities of binding. A very good copy of a rare book.
