Description
8vo., First Edition, with numerous plates; black cloth, a near fine copy in the dustwrapper. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON TITLE. Astonishingly detailed and extremely harrowing account of life and death in Stanley camp. The author, who during four years' captivity managed miraculously to preserve scraps of a diary on which this work is based, survived the war to become Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Hong Kong Police. A mostvaluable memoir and already uncommon in this condition.
