Disbound. = The British zoologist and professor of natural history at the Hancock Museum in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, George Stewardson Brady (1832-1921) was one of the foremost ostracod and copepod specialists of the late 19th century. Brady's well-illustrated monograph, was published in volume I of the reports on scientific data and specimens collected during the grandest and most influential circumglobal scientific cruise, and the largest natural history endeavour of the 19th century, published in over 50 volumes dealing with numerous kinds of - mostly marine - life forms. Includes the descriptions and illustrations of new taxa. Disbound from larger volume, but the sewing intact. Single, small chip in one plate margin (not in the printed area), otherwise very good, clean copy. Nissen ZBI, 4754.
