Description
12mo (150 x 85 mm) 24pp., new boards. Samuel Wood, resided in a small house at the back of Parliament-row, Nottingham. He had been married to his wife about nine years, and had three children. A man named Dunn lodged with them, and Wood ëentertained suspicions of improper familiarity between Dunn and his wife. This jealousy preyed upon his mind and he determined to destroy one or both of the parties.í On the evening of the 16th Nov. 1825, Wood had been drinking to excess, and on his return home he quarrelled with his wife. In a fit of rage he picked up a coal-pick and struck her several blows on the head, which fractured the skull and caused her death. He was executed on Thursday, the 16th March, 1826.
