Description

First Edition, 64 pp., disbound. John Hill, who called himself ìSir Johnî, as a member of the Swedish order of Vasa. He contributed a daily letter to the ìLondon Advertiser and Literary Gazetteî called the ìThe Inspectorî, the letters first appeared in March 1751 and continued for over two years. They were later described by DíIsraeli as being ëa light scandalous chronicle all the week with a seventh-day sermoní.
