Description

First Edition, 4to, [ii],v,[vi]-33,[1]pp., with half-title, without final errata leaf, 6 leaves of plates (of which 4 are folding), orig. boards with booksellerís label for C.P. Archer of Dublin mounted on upper cover, spine worn a defective, unopened, uncut. First edition of this scarce work on ornamental turning. ìAll the pieces described have been worked by a Lathe of the most common and least expensive description, with the addition only of the ëEccentric Chuckí and ëFixed Sliding Restí: my great wish and aim have been to confine my specimens of work to such as can be produced by the most economical apparatus, and, I flatter myself, the descriptions given with the plates will be found sufficiently clear and distinct, to enable any amateur, however young in the art, to accomplish any of them, should they be deemed worthy of imitation.îóPreface.
