8vo (216 x 133 mm), [2], 31, [1]pp., presentation inscription from the author to Winifred Leigh, July 1920, orig. red cloth, a little faded with a few water splash stains, title in gilt on upper cover, a.e.g. The author (1853-1942) was the second daughter of the 2nd Lord Leigh of Stoneleigh and refers to her experiences of life in the Abbey while it was still occupied by the family. She dedicates this copy to her cousin by marriage, the widow of Major Chandos Leigh. Provenance: From the library of Josceline Grove, with bookplate and their typed catalogue description pasted to front endpapers.
