Roy. 4to., First Edition thus, with coloured frontispiece, 3 fine coloured plates in collotype, 8 plates in monochrome and numerous illustrations in the text, small neat inscription on front free endpaper; blue cloth, gilt back, covers lightly faded else a bright, clean copy. Accessible edition of the fishing classic first published as a signed and limited edition of 195 copies in 1931. Contributors include Skues, Van Dyke, Radcliife, Ransome, Calderwood, Plunket Greene, Griswold and others. Sheringham was fishing editor of 'The Field' magazine; Moore provides a chapter on chub on the fly.
