Description

Aus der Bibliothek von Prof. Wolfgang Haase, langjigem Herausgeber der ANRW und des International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT) / From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - altersgemsehr guter Zustand / very good condition for age - With this exhibition, which is much more than a simple display of artifacts, Palazzo Grassi hopes to give rise to a moment of reflection. -- The experts we called upon to help and whose help was given with enthusiasm and disinterest, discovered it to be an opportunity for taking a fresh look at hypotheses and ideas. The public too is invited to take part in this. For, rather than having our halls thronged with crowds looking for curiosities, what we want to see is people who are alive to the message that we are offering, which is the same as that offered by the Celts. -- The Celts, the Origins of Europe" was the name we chose for the exhibition, and those origins are what we believe lies at its heart. This exhibition is a tribute both to the new Europe which cannot come to fruition without a comprehensive awareness of its unity, and to the fact that, in addition to its Roman and Christian sources, todays Europe traces its roots from the Celtic heritage, which is there for all to see.
