The unedited version, which was printed first, was suppressed in favor of the edited text, but was issued later in response to the demand promoted by the Lisbon earthquake.” This is the text which was issued first. With the half-title as called for, woodcut initials and head-pieces. 12mo., bound in contemporary polished calf, the spine with raised bands gilt ruled, the covers with double gilt fillet rules at the borders.
