Description
No marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, very minor traces of storage and no bumping to corners. 240pp. An account of the railway which was to go through England's Lake District and which was the subject of great controversy from 1837 continuosly to the Act for construction being passed in 1844. Even there there was direct poetic opposition from William Wordsworth. The railway finally opened in 1846. No 156 in the Oakwood Library.
