Roy. 8vo., Second Edition, on laid paper, with coloured frontispiece, title-vignette, coloured and monochrome plates, maps and plans; green cloth, upper board with regimental badge blocked in silver, gilt back, a near fine copy. First volume of one of the great regimental histories. This volume was first published in 1901. A second volume followed in 1903, a third volume in 1939, and fourth, fifth and sixth volumes by Falls (1958), Miles (1961) and A.D. Gardyne (1972). Sutcliffe, p.389; White, p.120.
