First Prowett Edition and the First Book Edition. Profusely illustrated throughout with twenty very finely engraved full page plates and including a finely engraved frontispiece of Cotton’s Fishing House and another of Isaac Walton, engraved title page and with many engravings in the text including finely engraved and illustrated initials and engraved head and tail-pieces. 8vo, handsomely bound in three-quarter contemporary calf over marbled paper covered boards, the spine with raised bands gilt ruled, lettered in gilt in one compartment. [ii], ii, 93, plates. A handsome copy, with some wear between the pastedown and free-fly at the front. The binding remains strong and tight.
