First edition, 4to (322 x 250 mm), [4], 38pp., text slightly age-toned, 8 double-page engraved tables, 2 double-page engraved plates, some light offsetting to tables and plates, contemporary marbled boards, a little worn at extremities, calf re-back, original printed paper label on upper cover. A report of the experiments carried out for the Society between 1796-1798. It contains nine chapters outlining the experiments ëmade to ascertain the laws respecting bodies moving through the water with different velocities.í Provenance: Early book label and signature of J. Hays.
