About the Book:-The author has made a good attempt to highlight the significance of Pranayam in our mundane life. Since time immemorial the Hindu Saints (Rishis) have pondered over the long and scrutinizing investigation of the science of breath. They considered it as a separate science and dealt with it so broadly and with so much precision that it is simply wonderful. The practical points of this hidden science are put before the cosmopolitan for experiment and anybody can make experiments if so disposed and let the world see what immeasurable good is derived there from. The science of breath has been made a part of the Yoga system (concentration of mind for divine communion); in short it is a kind of stepping stone to higher communion. A complete control over the exercises of the breath is said to secure perfect joy, health and long life. The economy of breath is regarded as the greatest of all economics. To lessen the frequency of breath, to shorten its length, to change its course in different directions, are said to be the principal means of prolonging life and preserving health and youthful vigour up to a good ripe old age. This little work is truly good for the beneficial of mankind. This book was first published in 1924.
